This is a pic of the boys with our first really harvest (besides peas and strawberries). We got some zucchini and dug our first potatoes. The potatoes were really fun, like digging for treasure. The boys want to dig them up everyday.
Here is part of the jungle. The first year I have planted pole beans. They grow like crazy. I swear, a few inches in height a day. (Pole beans behind the boys, potatoes in front of the boys.)
It's a jungle out there!! Austin is next to the zucchini. It is going crazy. I'm going to try to grow it vertically this year. We'll see how that goes. Off to the left of the pic is tomato plants in 5 ft cages. They are growing like crazy too. There are green tomatoes on the plant but none have ripened yet. The onions are at the bottom of the pic. Maybe I got carried away with those. Oh well. It's just fun to grow stuff.
Oh I am so jealous! I knew I wouldn't have the time to garden this year so I only have one zuchinni and one tomato plant--but no harvest yet. :(
ReplyDeletehow big is your backyard? That is amazing that you can grow all of that and have the time to take care of it. If we tried that, I don't think our plants would survive. I think Cody would be pulling everything out of the ground. And my fam isn't big on any veggies besides potatoes so that is also why I don't do a garden. Looks great! You did a good job.
ReplyDeleteWow your garden looks great! Let me know how the zucchini work vertically...I'm thinking about trying it next year. Your tomatoes look awesome!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Austin is riding a two wheeler! Thats amazing! We can barely get Leila out to ride her bike - it drives us crazy!
We have a much smaller garden than yours but it is still so great to pick the veggies. We even tried a fruit this year.....watermelon. Mia's pick! I have a REALLY good zucchini bread recipe for all that zucchini if you don't already have one you like.
